The designer first began designing clothes at age 12, and, three years later, interned fro Christian Lacroix. McCartney studied fashion design at St. Martin's College of Art & Design, and her graduation collection was modeled by supermodels Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Moss. Since then, McCartney has worked with names like Chloe, the Gucci Group, Adidas and H&M.

Stella McCartney is an activist against the maltreatment of animals, and, therefore, does not use any fur or animal products in her collections. In 2007, she released a 100% organic skincare line called Care.
