Burberry was founded in 1856 by former-draper's apprentice Thomas Burberry. It has since grown from a small but popular U.K. brand into an international designer label and one of the most widely-copied trademarks.

In 2000, rising designer Christopher Bailey was brought into the company to turn around the declining brand. Bailey based his designs on the heritage of the company and was widely praised by critics and customers alike.
